Life at Piner's Guest Home

Piner’s Guest Home is an Eden Alternative home. That means that we strive to help our Elders live lives full of meaning and purpose. We offer opportunities to help care for our vegetable gardens and look after our resident pets, who are a wonderful source of companionship for our Elders.

From the comfort and privacy of the rooms to the openness and friendliness of the recreation areas, the Elders have a place to call their own. Our Elders enjoy decorating their rooms with their own furnishings and special touches.

Our fully qualified staff provides individualized care, which emphasizes a balance of personal and professional interaction. We care for each Elder as if they were our own family.

We have created an environment that is clean, professional, fresh and familiar.

It is a cozy, safe place to be. It is home!

Services

Our small community allows Elders and staff members to form lasting connections, allowing us to better anticipate and provide for each individual’s needs. Some of our amenities include:

Environment

Piner’s Guest Home has multiple living spaces, including a day room and a library, both with televisions, and a dining room that’s full of light from the wall of windows overlooking the patio and garden.

Dining

Fresh, home cooked meals, prepared by our chefs daily at our on-site facilities, are among the things Elders like best about Piner’s Guest Home.

We offer a structured dining program, but remain flexible. The regular schedule of breakfast, lunch, and evening snack is willingly adjusted for doctor’s appointments or other needs of the individual Elder.

Similarly, special dietary concerns are gladly addressed, and Elders enjoy full restaurant-style service. Beverages, fresh fruit, cookies, muffins, and other home baked goods are available day or night in our snack area.

Care

We offer assistance with personal care needs on an individual basis. Our staff is here to help Elders with tasks like bathing, grooming, and dressing.

Our staff communicates directly with our Elders’ doctors, addressing health concerns and coordinating doctor office visits with the family.

We provide medication assistance, as well as consultations with doctors and pharmacists regarding an Elder’s medications. We also take care of any necessary medication orders or refills.

Licensed nurses are available every day in our skilled nursing facility, just a few steps away.

Activities

We offer the Elders things to do and events to look forward to. From cultural and local events to holiday parties and birthdays, Elders remain engaged with life and all of the celebrations that go along with it.

We design our programs to allow the participation of family and friends whenever possible. Music performances or group sing-alongs, movies, trips to town, exercise classes, and bingo are regular occurrences. We offer frequent shopping tours and lunch or brunch out. We also plan special outings, like trips to the Napa Valley Museum and the Napa Town and Country Fair.

We encourage our Elders to stay involved and make a difference through our monthly resident Council meetings, where they can raise concerns or make suggestions for improvement.
